Workhorse Group Seems to Be an Electric Vehicle Buy

InvestorPlace – Stock Market News, Stock Advice & Trading Tips

There are names that are immediately recognizable when it comes to electric vehicles. Everyone knows Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA). Nikola (NASDAQ:NKLA) generated buzz this year with its Badger electric/hydrogen fuel cell pickup truck. What about Workhorse Group Inc (NASDAQ:WKHS) and WKHS stock?

Source: rblfmr / Shutterstock.com

That one may not ring a bell. It’s not a player in the consumer space (although it did once have plans for an electric pickup), but Workhorse is definitely on the radar of investors. After four years under the $5 ceiling, WKHS stock suddenly shot up in June, gaining 673% in the month.

Shares in the delivery and utility EV maker gave some of that back, but since July they have been trading at over $15. Given that WKHS was priced as low as $1.47 in March, the gain is

Porsche presses on with electric vehicle launches as it battles Tesla

Porsche will press ahead with the launch of new electric models in the US despite sales in the country dropping by a fifth during the coronavirus crisis as the carmaker steps up plans to take on Tesla.

We haven’t got a plan to postpone anything in [America], and that’s true for other countries as well,” Oliver Blume, Porsche’s chief executive, told the Financial Times.

But he added that current projections were based on there being no “second wave” of Covid-19 infections.

Last year, the German luxury carmaker, which accounts for more than a quarter of parent Volkswagen’s profits, unveiled its flagship electric sports car, the Taycan, designed to compete with Tesla’s Model S.

The Taycan 4S has been on sale in Tesla’s home market since the start of the year but, overall, Porsche sales in the US dropped 20 per cent in the first six months of the

A cause of death has not been released.

“It is a tragic accident and has rocked the Paulino family to its core,” Reyes added. The Miami Herald is reporting that investigators are treating Paulino’s death “as a horrific accident.”

Edmunds: Is It Time for a Plug-In Hybrid Vehicle? | Lifestyle News

By REESE COUNTS of Edmunds

Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles — typically abbreviated as PHEVs — make up a very small percentage of vehicle sales, but they can be a smart pick for a certain kind of shopper.

Consider this scenario: You want to buy a significantly more fuel-efficient vehicle than what you have now but can’t fully commit to a pure electric vehicle such as a Tesla. Perhaps you’re worried about long battery charging times or have range anxiety. What should you do? A PHEV could be the solution.

A PHEV is essentially a hybrid vehicle — think a Toyota Prius — with two key modifications: a larger-capacity battery pack and a charge port that allows you to recharge the battery with a power cord. A PHEV still has a gasoline engine but is able to go a short distance on pure electric power without ever using the engine. That

Electric vehicle startups such as Nikola are turning to blank check firms, also known as Special Purpose Acquisition Companies, or SPACs, as a way to go public and raise an influx of fast cash to get their vehicles to market.

All the companies have grand ambitions and believe they can create a niche in the market. Some have charismatic executives on social media, taking a note from Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s playbook. And a few even have factories under construction. But one thing they all have is a lot to prove

Choose the right vehicle for your off-road adventures

If you’re looking for an exciting way to practice social distancing, buy an off-road vehicle and explore the great outdoors.

But first, make sure you choose an SUV or truck that can handle the level of adventure you’re seeking.

When you go off the grid, “you know there will be obstacles, but you don’t exactly know what they’ll be,” says Dan Edmunds, an Autoblog contributor with an off-roading YouTube channel under his own name.

Someone wandering back roads doesn’t need (and may even want to avoid) the equipment needed to ford deep streams or go rock-hopping.

Josh Sadlier, director of content strategies for car site Edmunds.com, needed a vehicle that could not only handle mountain jeep trails but could also accommodate a baby seat for his 6-month-old daughter.

He’s happy with the 2000 Toyota Land Cruiser he recently bought and has already logged 9,000 miles exploring the backcountry of California,
