A man was arrested after a car was stolen Saturday evening.

According to Omaha police, the vehicle was stolen at a restaurant near S 51st and Leavenworth streets.

Police said OnStar shut off the engine and the vehicle came to a stop near Interstate 680 and Pacific Street.

The man inside the vehicle refused to exit, so officers used bean bag rounds to break the cars windows and filled the car with pepper ball gas, according to police.

Officials said the man was in his 20’s. According to police, he was taken to jail for felony auto theft.
