A 34-year-old man from Milford died Saturday after driving off the road and rolling over multiple times near Bridgeville, according to Delaware State Police.
The crash occurred at 3:36 p.m. on Seashore Highway (Route 18) east of Oak Road, police said. The man was driving east on Seashore Highway and attempted to pass a slower vehicle in front of him, police said.
As he entered the west lane to pass the vehicle, he saw another vehicle heading directly toward him, police said. To avoid the vehicle, he swerved back to the east lane, nearly striking the vehicle he intended to pass, police said. The driver lost control, drove off the road and rolled over multiple times before stopping upright in a cornfield, police said.

Police said the man was not properly restrained. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.
Seashore Highway was closed for about three hours as the crash was investigated and cleared.
