Perth Amboy NJ man found with gunshot wounds in crashed vehicle dies


Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a vehicle and two people, both captured on video, who are considered persons of interest in the fatal shooting of a Franklin Park man last month

PERTH AMBOY – Police are investigating after a 41-year-old city man died after being found in a vehicle with gunshot wounds late Sunday.

At about 11:35 p.m. Sunday, police responded to a 911 call about a one-vehicle crash at the intersection of High Street and Hall Avenue, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Police Chief Roman McKeon said in a prepared statement.

Arriving officers found the driver of the vehicle, Vidal Carrasquillo-Vasquez, suffering from several gunshot wounds, according to the statement.

Carrasquillo-Vasquez was transported to Staten Island University Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The official cause of death was pending the results of the autopsy, the results of which are forthcoming, according to the statement.
