Saginaw man arrested after firing shots at vehicle in Bay City, police say

BAY CITY, MI – A 20-year-old Saginaw man is in custody after police say he fired shots at a vehicle Saturday night in Bay City.

Officers with the Bay City Department of Public Safety responded around 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29 to the 200 block of North Farragut Street, between 10th and 11th streets, after several 911 calls for a report of a person shooting at a vehicle.

The male suspect, whose name has not been released, was armed with a handgun and fired several shots at a vehicle driving by him, police said.

A vehicle with multiple bullet holes was located a short time later. A nearby home had also been hit by one of the bullets.

No injuries were reported by police.

The suspect was located and taken into custody shortly after the shooting.

He is being held at the Bay County Jail, pending formal charges.

The handgun allegedly used in the shooting was also recovered.

Michigan State Police and the Bay County Sheriff’s Office assisted Bay City police at the scene.
