A 48-year old Oakland man was arrested after officers discovered he had a felony warrant for his arrest and a firearm and narcotics were located in his vehicle late on Friday night in Merced, according to police.
An enforcement stop was made in the area of the 1800 block of G Street in Merced at 11:55 p.m. on Friday after an officer saw a black Chevy Impala with tinted windows.
Charles Wren was identified as the driver and the officer discovered Wren had a felony warrant out of Sacramento and Wren was taken into custody.
A K-9 unit assisted in the search of the vehicle, which revealed a 9mm handgun found between the front seats of the vehicle. The gun was reported stolen out of Arkansas. A small amount of heroin and cocaine was also found in the vehicle.
Wren was booked into the Merced County Jail for felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, possession of a concealed firearm, possession of stolen property, transportation of narcotics, and his felony warrant.
