A woman was charged with arson after allegedly setting a vehicle on fire Wednesday morning in Harrison Township, police say.
The Harrison Township Fire Department and Macomb County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call Wednesday at about 8 a.m. after a vehicle fire was reported, said police. The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office said Sydney Parham, 26 of Fraser, had reportedly intentionally set the vehicle on fire and fled the scene.
When deputies arrived to the San Remo Apartments on Union Lake Rd., the black Jeep was fully engulfed, police say. Witnesses provided information to identify Parham to police.
Parham was found by Macomb County Sheriff’s investigators leaving her place of residence in a vehicle that matched the suspected car, police say. The Roseville Police Department assisted in taking Parham into custody.
Police say Parham and the vehicle’s owner were acquaintances. She was treated at the Macomb County Jail for minor cuts and burns, according to police.
