UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio — Assault: Washington Boulevard
At 7:50 p.m. Aug. 23, callers reported that a female had been struck by a car at the intersection of Washington Boulevard and Fenwick Road. Police arrived to find a woman, 23, conscious and with an injured leg and ankle. The woman told police that the car that hit her was driven by her ex-boyfriend, and that he fled the area.
The woman was taken to the hospital. Police investigated and arrested the suspect on East 114th Street in Garfield Heights. The suspect, 24, of Garfield Heights, had his car impounded. He was charged with two counts of assault and multiple traffic offenses.
The victim sought a temporary protection order against the man.
Theft: Eaton Road
At 11:40 a.m. Aug. 17, a man, 36, reported that a delivered package was stolen from his doorway. In the package was a computer valued at $1,500.
Fraud: Barrington Road
At 3:05 p.m. Aug. 17, a man, 64, reported that someone gained his banking information and used it to take $4,232 from his account.
Theft: Washington Boulevard
At 6 p.m. Aug. 19, a woman, 27, reported that someone entered her open, detached garage and stole her bicycle.
Trespassing: Warrensville Center Road
At 2:35 a.m. Aug. 20, police detained a Cleveland man, 34, who was found trespassing while on his bike at the city hall complex, 2304 Warrensville Center Road. It was learned that the man was the subject of multiple warrants.
The man was cited for trespassing and turned over to Parma police on a warrant.
Property damage: East Carroll Boulevard
At 10:40 p.m. Aug. 20, a man, 41, reported that someone broke a window on his car as it was parked on his property while he was away on vacation.
Disturbing the peace: Ashurst Road
At 8:05 p.m. Aug. 22, police received a complaint of loud music coming from a house party. Police cited the home’s resident, a woman, 19, for disturbing the peace.
Disturbing the peace: Silsby Road
At 11:10 p.m. Aug. 22, police responded to a complaint of a loud house party. Police charged a resident of the home, a man, 22, with disturbing the peace.
Runaways: Fairmount Boulevard
At 9:15 a.m. Aug. 22, and then again at 10:15 a.m. the same day, police took separate reports of two 17-year-old girls who ran away from Bellefaire JCB, 22001 Fairmount Blvd.
